The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization
that produces free concerts for the public and raises money to
support music education programs. We are an all volunteer run
organization.
Since we started the festival in 2007, we've produced over 40 free
concerts for the public, highlighting both local music talent and
national acts.
In addition to allowing us to produce free music events for the public,
proceeds from the festival benefit music education programs on the
North Shore of Massachusetts. To date, we've raised almost $25,000
for music education programs in schools and youth programs on the
North Shore. Learn more about our music education programs.

We're excited to share some great news: Thanks to you and our
generous sponsors, we raised $5,500 for music education programs
in 2011. This year, in addition to making donations to programs in
Salem, our reach has expanded to support music education programs
in other North Shore communities. This year's beneficiaries include
music programs at Salem High School, the Lynn Public Schools
system and the North Shore Recovery High School in Beverly. This is
the first year we've made contributions outside of Salem...and we're
proud to say....we're growing! This brings our 6-year total of funds
raised for music education programs to $25,000.
Funds will be used to purchase equipment in several schools and
youth centers, produce interactive music workshops between Salem
State University and Salem High School, pay for student scholarships
to jazz camp, and partially fund the “World’s Largest Concert” project
for elementary school children on the North Shore.
