The Second Annual Salem Jazz and Soul Festival was a wonderful event,
featuring  the
Berklee Summer Series, our Downtown Concert Showcase
with performances by the Boston Horns and the Nat Simpkins Band with
Henri Smith.  The three-day festival wrapped up the season, and featured
phenomenal performances by the Dan King Band, Ken Clark Organ Trio,
Brothers from Another Planet, Parker Wheeler Blues Party, The Mystix, and
festival headliners Los Sugar Kings.  The weekend came to a beautiful and
uplifting end with performances by the Follow Hymn Gospel Choir and Marty
Rowen & Last Call for Blues.

We're grateful for the support of our sponsors, volunteers, the City of
Salem, and of course, all of you who came out to enjoy the music.

As a result of our fundraising efforts in 2008, we were able to donate
$6,000 to music programs in Salem and staged dozens of free music
events for the public.
